HDC Shilla Duty Free and Galleria Duty-Free 63 became some of the winners to operate duty-free stores in Korea after going through rigorous competition last year, an event that comes back every five years. While the renewal process intends to fire up competition in the duty-free industry, it’s the smaller Korean brands that are struggling to manage their businesses.
